If you sent one of us a note but you don't see it here, then I have either not had a chance to post it yet or I have deemed it worthy of the Blessing Counting page. If you don't want your words to appear here, just let me know and I will remove them. Thank you all for your wonderful support in this, our darkest hour.

"I do not wish to intrude upon your sorrow, but
should you log on today, I just wanted to express our sympathies on the sudden
passing of Uncle Fred. I myself had returned from a party after 11:00pm and
received the news with disbelief, shock, sadness and regret. May God grant
you Grace to help you cope, and know that our prayers and thoughts are with you
all.
Love
Mark"
"Dear Shirley,
We offer our deepest
sympathy to you and the family on hearing of the passing away of our dear
Freddy. To us Freddy was not just a friend, but a member of our family. It was
such a joy to have him in Karachi with us during his last visit. He was one of
the finest persons we have had the privilege to know, and we will always
remember with affection his warmth, his sense of humour and his friendship. We
know that he will always be remembered as a loving husband and father, a loving
brother and a loyal friend. We pray that God grant him peace, and grant you and
the family the strength to bear this loss. Our prayers are with you
all.
Fareeda, Aman & family."
"Dear Shirley and family
:
My loving thoughts and
supporting prayers are with all of you. Dear Freddy was 'family' to us, as are
all of you. I got the sad news from Charles soon after he received it from
Jenny (?), but it has been sinking in very slowly. The fact that one cannot
really feel "grieved", is because Freddy is too much a part of our lives ---and
its not going to go away. As a friend from school days , I have been fortunate
to have had him as a friend for 50 years or more. Many a great time we have had
together and there is a great bank of happy memories.
The photograph which comes
with David's announcement is the way I remember dear Freddy and it brought
tears to my eyes.

"Dear Dave:
Please accept our deepest condolences on the
passing away of your father. And thanks for taking the trouble to find my email
address and informing me.
My wife, Nina and I, along with our Daughter Sonya
and son-in-law Ryan called on your mother, grandma and rest of the family this
afternoon to convey our condolences. We met everyone except you. Sorry to have
not met you in person.
I can well imagine your grief at the loss of your
father (and such a lovable person that he was). It is indeed a privilege that I
knew him and came to love and respect his character and charisma. Only two days
earlier to his passing away I had occasion to meet Donna when she visited our
home, and express admiration for your dad. We shall sorely miss
him.
In spite of your grief you have started putting
together at the Zuzarte Strand, a fitting tribute to his memory. "A work in
progress", as you have described it. I am sure your dad will be looking at you
from above and applauding your efforts. You have done him proud.
I shall look forward to meeting you on Friday/Saturday.

"Dearest Shirley & Family
May God grant you the strength and courage to bear your
tragic loss. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Vincy, to me, was more than a younger brother. He was, in
many ways my mentor and buddy, on whom I could always depend.
He has left us a legacy of unity and goodwill which will
sustain us till the end of our days.
May his soul rest in peace.
Charles & Family"
"My Dear Shirley,
Ayesha and I were very saddened by David's message giving us
the unexpected news. We understand too well it's in God's hands, but one can't
help wishing otherwise. Fred has been a great friend to us, and I am sure a
great husband, father and grandfather in your family. Instead of spouting nice
sounding sayings and sentiments, he lived them all the time, and it showed
clearly. I feel strongly that he brought much happiness, contentment and
fulfillment in your life, and for those long and happy years we must all be
grateful to God.
I got to know Fred about 50 years back, and at the time he
looked a lot like the picture David has on his site, with the dog. Always
cheerful and fun loving, he has been an ideal friend for a long time, and I only
hope I didn't give him anything negative either. We understood each other
well. After dinner I went out for a walk. There has been snow here yesterday
and today, a couple of inches on the ground, and it immediately made me think of
our Lawson Road days, when Fred would come out during our slow jogging evenings
and join us for a couple of times around the block. We always enjoyed his
company.
Fred never had an opportunity to introduce me to his mother or
siblings but more than made up by bringing the Saldanha extended family into my
circle of treasured friends and acquaintances. I hope you and all your
relatives will always think of Ayesha and me whenever we can do something
useful, just as comfortably as you would think of one another. We would be
honored.
I read David's second round of emails only a couple of hours
ago. I have considered driving up to be there on Saturday. It's not very
feasible, as on Sunday morning I have to receive Lila at Dayton and bring her 60
miles to our house for the holidays. But soon after 12/31 Ayesha and I are
thinking of making a visit to our favorite city, and favorite people. Hope it
can work out.
Please give our love and sympathy to each of your children, as
we don't have email or street address in some cases, and so won't be writing to
each separately. But we are thinking about each of them with fond and loving
feelings.
Much love and many tears,
Ayesha and Farhad"
"
We are all very sorry to hear of Fred's passing from David and Barbara. Please
accept our heartfelt sympathy to you Shirley and all the family at this
difficult time. We have good memories of Fred during our stays in Montreal
& Toronto and can only guess how much he will be missed. Our sympathy
and love goes out to all of you. Molly & Rodney."
"dear aunty,
I have just heard the terrible news. You cannot imagine how sorry I am and
I cannot imagine how you and the family must be feeling in these awful
time.
I know words can hardly make you feel any better but please know that we
have you all in our thoughts and send you all the love we can garnish and hope
with all our heart that you can get through these days with the affection of the
family.

"
Hi Donna,
I know we have not seen each
other in years, but that in no way diminishes the sorrow that I feel for your
loss. I remember your dad to be a wonderful man - he could not have raised such
a great group of children if it were otherwise. I know that my words cannot
provide any relief for the pain you must be experiencing, but hopefully you will
find some peace in the knowledge that your father is remembered in my prayers.
Please share my sympathies with Jeff and the rest of the
family.

"Dear Dave,
Thank you, Dave, for sending me the source material which I'm sure will
be really helpful in preparing the homily for Saturday. I've asked Frida
(parish secretary) to print it all for me since I'm having a problem downloading
both at at home and at work.
You are all in my thoughts and prayers especially with the suddenness of
all that's happened. As your Mom probably told you, I didn't initially
realize that it was your father who had died since we weren't clear on
the last name. In phoning Father Pete to clarify, I was shocked to learn
that it was your Dad. A close friend of mine has also tragically lost her
Dad and her sister a few days ago and I am going to assist at their funeral
on Thursday. Fr. David will likely be in touch ahead of me, but I will,
of course, see you on Friday and perhaps connect with your Mom and you
guys just before the Vigil on Friday or sooner if I can.
In my prayers and kind regards,
Tom."

"Dear Shirley, Jeff and family:, The Groenigs (Gerd , Theresa (DeeDee),
Lucas
and Natalie) wish to give our sincere condolences for the loss of Fred.
We still remember him playing on the couch with Avery on Averys birthday.
He was having a great time with his grandson. We will try our best to be
at the funeral service on Saturday. the Groenig family."
"David,
Please accept my condolences on the sudden,
unexpected loss of your father. When possible, please extend my sympathies to
the rest of your family and specifically your mom. I've met Fred only a few
times in my life but enjoyed every time I met him and shared a laugh with him.
He has left a great legacy in you and your siblings.
Sincerely,
Doug Pinto"
"Dear Shirley,
Just a quick note to say that my thoughts are with you and your family
at this difficult time. I met Fred at some of the Mercer social events
and I always remember how warm-hearted he was, and how proud you were to
have him and the rest of your family come to our get-togethers.
I'm sure that all of your kids and their extended families will be a source
of great strength for you.
Deepest regards,
Don Hill"
"To the Zuzarte Family:
Just to say how sorry that we were to hear about the passing of Fred---he
will be remembered as a warm and loving person: We saw him at Avery's first
birthday and one cute thing that came out of the party, (among many others)
was that when my grandaughter Lauren Wallace went by Fred, he reached out
his hand and helped her walk by him---and she turned to him and said "I
know you"--and just kept going---and when my grandson Jacob was upstairs,
Fred took the time to keep his eye on him and help him to come down the
stairs---we will miss Fred and will keep him alive in our hearts and our
memories---we have a couple of real nice pictures taken at Avery's birthday,
which I will make sure Paddy and Jeff get and if more are wanted that will
be taken care of---Again our deepest and heartfilled thoughts are with
each and everyone

"Dear Shirley and family:
A brief note to express my sympathy at the tragic and sudden loss of your
beloved husband and father. My thoughts and prayers are for you during
this painful ordeal.
Shirley, I am so happy Andrew and I met you this summer. I met {Fred} several
years ago and remember him to be a very jovial guy.
I will get in touch with you at a later date. In the meantime, I wish I
could put my arms around you and give you comfort.
Lots of love,
Lorette"
"Hello Dave.
My sincere regrets for the
passing of your Father. Condolences to the family. Fred was a great man and an
individual who put lots of ENTHUSIASM in all he did. He was special and will
always be remembered by all his fellow Christophers.
Hope to see you Friday or Saturday.
Graham Cantwell"
"Dear Shirl,
How appropriate that ths final message from Fred should be still on my
computer. It sums up his life to a great extent: loving and giving.
Today was the big Chrsitmas festival at J & M. Many of the sisters came
up to offer their condolences. Sr Grace was specially asking about Fred. She is
in Sialkot these days and she said she would offer a mass on 20th. Peter and
Shirley Cross especially asked for your address and are sending a card to
you.
Fr Bob and Fr Joseph Pham will be taking part in the funeral mass - this was
conveyed to me by Fr Joseph.
I notice the weather in Toronto is very near freezing... but that is normal
for this time of year.
United with the whole family in this moment of grief,
Love,
Larry

"It was nice meeting you all recently, wish it was under totally different
circumstances. Although we are back with our daily life, the memories of
your dad will always remain fresh in our minds. We pray that you all have
the strength to deal with his loss.
We should keep in touch, even if it means a few messages here and there.
Hi to all at home and Best Wishes for Christmas and the New Year

"Dear David,
I was very sad to hear about your father's passing away.Freddy was a great friend of mine. We were together in school from the 5th class onwards. We had a lot of fun together. We influenced each other a lot and learnt a lot from each other.
I will miss him. God bless him.
Please give your mother my best regrads. I am sure that she and all of you will find the strenght to bear this heavy loss.
David, thank you very much for all the information you have been sending me.The way you write reminds me a lot about Freddy. I wish you all the best.

"Dave,
I taught with your Dad in
the 'Christopher' Public Speaking course. He was a dynamic, colourful,
energetic man and speaker. It was a joy and pleasure to work with
him.
I pray God's hand upon your
family at this time, that He will give you much strength and peace.
Sincerely in
Christ,

"Thank you, Dave, for Fred's memorial and for the other features
on your web. Your Dad was certainly a man who lived life to the full and
obviously enjoyed. Once again my deepest sympathies to your mother and
all the family. I'm sorry to have missed the funeral but I see now how
it happened. I too got the wrong name. Even in our high tech society the
human factor will out. Enjoyed your choice of music too.
By the way the St.Joe's web needs an update.
Good wishes. Mike Doyle"

Dear Aunt Shirley,
I'm very very sad for
the tragedy you have announced!
I know that there are no words that can help you and your family on this
moments and only your own family can help herself staying closly together.
As we are so far from Canada, I can just write to you a few lines to show
my sincerly sorry and express you my condolences. I'm sure that God will
keep Oncle Fred close to himself and this is the only thing that can give
to all of us a bit of serenity. I'm sure all of us we will miss a nice
person as Oncle Fred was but he will stay in our memory: in mine too, even
if I met him so little time. We will pray for him, for you and for your
family. Take care of yourself! Un abbraccio forte forte to you and your
sons and our cousins. da Matteo & family (who is in Oporto, where I'll
go for Christmas hollidays)"
"Hi Shirley:
Just a note to let you know I am thinking of you. I have read the web page
created by you son David and learned much about your family, all of whom
are lending great support to you and each other. That is a blessing in
itself besides, from all accounts, you had a wonderful and loving husband,
so you have many precious memories to sustain you.
Dave, you did an outstanding job, creating the web page - truly a labor
of love.
Shirley, your last words to me when we parted were " keep the Saldanha
spirit fighting!" I'm sure you are doing the same.
My love to you all and especially Aunty Lilla.

Hi Dave,
Please accept my sincerest
condolences in regards to your fathers passing away. I apologize I'm not sure
what to say when the passing away of someone so dear to you has occurred, but
since we are both Catholic, I know for a fact that your father is with God in
Heaven now. Again, I'm very sorry to hear the news Dave, if you feel like
talking or going for a drink, call me anytime.
Take care

Alex"

Hi
David
This is such sad
news to hear. My heart goes out to you and your family.
I'll never forget
seeing the Zuzarte family almost every weekend at church, sitting right there in
front of us!!
From what I
remember of your dad, he was a extremely friendly man, even with your friends
who were constantly getting in trouble with you, and it's good to see his son
living his life with that same love for others.
From the entire Conroy clan, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

your Dad Fred. Rob forwarded this Memorial site to me, which I think is

Dear Mrs. Zuzarte and Dave,
My deepest sympathies on the passing of Mr. Zuzarte.
Please rest assured of the prayers of my entire family for him and for your
growing family. He was a fine gentleman; I fondly recall our conversations when
I was younger. He has left a wonderful legacy in your beautiful family. I also
have many warm and happy memories from my childhood of the hours spent in your
happy home. Thank you, years later, for that kindness and
generosity.
Dave, I was happy to see you at the funeral although
I wish it were under more joyful circumstances. Keep in touch, buddy.
Mrs. Zuzarte, I'm sorry I didn't get to see you and
offer my condolences personally. Hopefully, I will see you again
soon.
God bless you all.
